"...But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another."
1 Corinthians 12: 24-25

God's Rewards for Fasting

Light, health, righteousness, glory, answered prayer, continual guidance, satisfaction, refreshing and restoration.

Isaiah 58

6 "Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,
and your healing shall spring up speedily;
your righteousness shall go before you;
the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, 'Here I am.'
11 And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters do not fail.
12 And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt;
you shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
you shall be called the repairer of the breach,
the restorer of streets to dwell in.

SEVEN Scriptural Fasting Objectives

As imagers of Jesus, we need to continually recognize how He, the King of Kings, humbled himself as a servant and sacrificed himself for all of us.

When you fast you humble yourself to the feet of the Lord, showing God that the bread you need most is Him.

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you."

James 4: 10

Your walk with God is a perfectly oriented plan for you to be reconciled to our Father through Truth.

31 ... So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

John 8: 31

When you fast you surrender to the will of God which give His Holy Spirit 'super highway' access to your mind to conquer lies and come to Him, the Truth.

38 And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2: 38

As we mature in the Spirit, the scriptures become more alive and new wisdom and knowledge comes from more understanding of God, Jesus, and ourselves as imagers of Jesus.

When we fast, read the scriptures, and pray, we are saying YES to the Spirit of Truth to guide us us to our God intended identity.

26"But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.

John 15 26-27

When we fast, Spirit helps us become aware of the lies in our minds and when we come to the Truth, return to the Shepherd, we are healed through the mind which heals related bodily ailments.

20 ... But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. 21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 22 He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. 23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

1 Peter 2: 20-25

The will of God is for every believer to be truly reconciled to Him. In this fasting course, you will learn to discern the groaning of the Spirit so you are strengthened in your weakness and realize your ability to search hearts with the mind of the Spirit.

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Romans 8: 26-27

The scriptures give us examples of standing in place for others. We are called to intercede and the prayers of intercession from a righteous person who is fasting is clearly heard by the Lord.

32 Then he said, "Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there." He answered, "For the sake of ten I will not destroy it." 33 And the Lord went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.

Genesis 18: 32-33

Jesus already won on the cross! So why are we all still fighting?

The more we understand the mystery of sin (lawlessness/iniquity) the more we are able to walk in the Light and overcome the works of the enemy. Fasting is the ideal environment to practice discernment and in this course we sow into you an approach to life so you understand what is occurring in the spirit realm, you are empowered and no longer deceived.

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 1: 5-10

Do Your Part to Fulfill the Prophecy

"And it shall come to pass afterward,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh"

JOEL 2: 12 & 28

12 "Yet even now," declares the Lord,
"return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning...
28 "And it shall come to pass afterward,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
